Sensitives & Psychics

I'd like to start out by stating that our group, Mystique Paranormal, does not use sensitives or psychics officially in any of our investigations. Having said that, about half my group, myself included, are sensitive with one psychic. We use our "gifts" to help us capture evidence, and it has proven to be very helpful in that regard. All those with ability are asked to internalize any impressions and/or messages received, then log that info post investigation. MPRS follows a purely scientific methodology at all times.

I've also decided to start a Facebook group page called Sensitive's Chat Cafe as a forum to learn and share information, ideas, and hopefully foster mentorships. Please feel free to join the group if your gifted, & all skill levels are welcome to join! Below I'd the FB link to the group page:

How does an investigation usually go?

Since each paranormal team works differently, be advised this is our normal process for a hunt...

1) About 3-5 days (varies) prior to a hunt, we do an in depth face to face interview and a property walk through. This varies a lot depending on if its a residential home or a business/other.

2)once the date of an investigation is scheduled, we ask our members to RSVP. If the location is small, we limit our investigators to usually 3-5.

3) Day before: all equipment is fully charged, discs & cassettes marked, delete
old files, then organize all your equipment in a neat & easy to find manner. Always bring extra batteries. Place everything in one easy to get to location so it'll be handy to load up in your car the next day.

4) Give entire team a brief walk through, point out hot spots & what activity occurs there.

5) Once everything is moved from the cars to the location, you're preselected area for command is ready to be set up.

6) First remove all equipment from cases, organizing everything by type (cameras, camcorders, audio, etc). No food nor drinks should be near this area. Attach any extra parts, such as IR Illuminators, so they are ready to roll. Then take all empty cases and move them to a good out of the way place, preferably away from command.

7) The command table itself is set up per instructions from tech manager. This usually involves DVR set-up and starting a master log for command. Everyone not involved in baseline readings & photo canvases must assist tech manager with tech set up. The team doing the baseline readings (average EMF & TEMP) and the photo canvas are generally a 3-4 member group, with a min of 2. They fill out both an indoor & outdoor log.

8) Once everything's up and running we usually take a 10-15 min break for phone calls, bathroom breaks, smoking breaks, etc etc

9) Go dark! This is when the fun begins!

10) All teams & team rotations are worked out before arriving at any location. Teams are generally 2-3 investigators & each team will get to investigate each area at least once.

11) Between each rotation we try to limit the time back to 5-10 min max so that we get as much investigating done as possible.

12) If we are doing a full night hunt, we will take a 15-20 min break, similar to when we took one after set up

13) We do rotate each team for at least one rotation at command. We do alway try to have the tech manager run the first command rotation, then either the tech manager or the asst. tech manager run the last tech rotation.

14) At the end of each investigation, the group votes on the place we should visit last as a whole group. Generally we'll run a 15 min ghost box session there.

15) Pack up! Equipment is easy to miss so we do 3 full checks for any left behind. Just like set up, everything needs to be taken down & organized. All wires & cords should always be wrapped up neatly (no Christmas tree lights!!). Once everything is organized then you can begin packing everything in the correct case they came in. Once a case is full, move it to the designated area for stuff ready to go into cars. Then when everything is packed up place it in the car(s) neatly.

16) 2-4 members do the final property walk through, looking for any equipment missed and cleaning any mess you made, including picking up trash, etc.

17) Finish up with a brief meeting to plan review goals.

18) Once you've either locked up yourself, or waited for the owner to lock you out, then your officially ready to go!

Please keep in mind this is a very minimalist outline of an official hunt, there is so much more. Once you try it once, you'll either become a member of a team, or you'll swear never to do it again. For those of you like us, we live for it!

Thank you so much for checking out our blogs & please check back for more!

Para-Unity!

If you're new to, or not a member of, the paranormal community then you may not have even heard of paranormal unity. The idea behind para-unity is that since all paranormal groups are essentially reaching for the same goals, namely to help people & to find indisputable proof of the paranormal to make it an accepted science, is to work together to bring about these advancements that much quicker.

However...it's easier said than done. Many groups believe their way is the only way and/or an unhealthy group rivalry. MPRS has reached out to many groups in our area to try to foster para-unity...so far we have been greatly disappointed in the general lack of even a response from many groups in our general area.

In a perfect world, at least twice a year the local & semi local groups should meet up and learn from one another. The best way to start building these bridges is to simply accept that although you may strongly disagree with another teams methodology, just accept that they are following a path different, not bad or wrong, just different.

To those of you reading this, I highly recommend you start reaching out to other groups in your area. Knowledge is truly power, so let start sharing with each other today.

Thank you!

Where we came from...

Where did MPRS come from? Here's our back story....

Although I've had experiences my entire life, I didn't start "ghost hunting" until 2006. I joined a group out of Cleveland, TN that is no longer together. I investigated with them for approximately 3 years & sat on their board of directors as Vice President for the majority of that time.

While I got to learn investigative technique, the basics of how a group is organized & run, I began to have some fundamental disagreements about some group policies & practices. I am not speaking bad of them, my ideas where just so different that I decided to leave the group. The main practice I strongly disagreed with was the official use of psychics & sensitives in the investigative process. Myself a sensitive, I never choose to join the psychic team, preferring to utilize scientific tools to capture proof of the paranormal.

About a year or so later, I started thinking about starting my own group. After a few false starts, MPRS came together initially in September of 2011. Today we are going strong with 14 members and 14 investigations to date, a large number of our membership being sensitives & psychics. The main difference is that in MPRS, us sensitives use our "gifts" to capture scientific evidence. You'd be surprised how well that works for us! We all work on internalizing much of what we feel, logging it all later so that we don't influence our fellow members. MPRS is built on a purely scientific methodology, and we are all proud of that!

We also believe that all groups have the right to investigate as they see fit. After all, who says which ways right or wrong? There just different! Paranormal unity is very important to us, because we are all looking for the same thing ultimately. Simple, undeniable proof of the paranormal and helping it become a recognized science by the scientific community. Each and every group is also there to help those who feel they are experiencing a haunting. We all just want to help you!

Hopefully as we move forward, paranormal unity can become the norm instead of the exception!

Thank you!

Just A Little Intro...

Hello! I'm Victoria, Case Manager and Investigator for MPRS. I am super excited that we have started a blog, and cant wait to put up some fun and interesting stories. For now, I'll give you just a brief introduction about me.

I am 26 years old and live in Georgia with my boyfriend and four cats. I am a very liberal, open minded person. Most people call me a hippie, but whatever. I enjoy scrapbooking, writing, music, movies, and social media. I am a big fan of the Facebook and the Twitter. I also have a personal blog where I love to write about my life and things I believe in.

I have been an investigator with MPRS for over a year now. It is something that I absolutely LOVE to do. I can't even begin to explain the thrill and adrenaline rush that I get when I see, hear, or feel something paranormal, and even more when I catch evidence that I am able to share with others. I was promoted to Case Manager a few months ago, after the previous one stepped down. It is a lot of responsibility, but I wouldn't change a thing about it. I love receiving and researching leads that I and other group members find. Every new location is an exciting journey to discovering more about the paranormal.

I don't know the exact time when I officially became a "believer." When I was a child, I used to wake up in the middle of the night and get the feeling that someone was watching me. I would see shadows, but my parents would tell me that it was my imagination and that ghosts and monsters weren't real. As I grew older, I never gave it much more thought until I was around 19 or 20. I started watching Ghost Hunters. I thought the things that they captured was awesome and it made me want to believe that there was something else out there. When I was 20 years old, my mother passed away. A few days after her passing, she came to me in a dream. I don't really remember her saying anything to me in that dream, but I do remember feeling a very calming and comforting feeling rush over me. Many small things begin happening. I felt that she was always with me giving me little signs. My dad passed away two years after my mom did. I feel him occasionally, but not as much as mom. It may be because Mom and I were closer, but I'm not sure. I also have a niece and nephew who passed away in a car accident in 2004. They both come to me in my dreams every few months. At first, it was a strange feeling to wake up and realize that they are still gone. But, gradually it became a sweet feeling, like seeing a friend you haven't seen in a long time. I just LOVE that feeling of knowing that my family's souls are still very alive and they have the ability of visiting me every now and then.

As far as my beliefs go, I was raised in a very strict Baptist church. As I have gotten older, I have started having more questions and my mind has began wandering. Many of these questions cannot be answered by my Christian faith. I have began learning about other beliefs and religions. I am still a Christian, but my beliefs are a lot different than most Christians. I believe in life after death. I believe in Heaven and Hell. I believe that Earth may be a sort of purgatory for souls that still have things to do here. I also believe that souls (or energy) live on forever. I think that those souls can come back to earth to visit or do jobs. Of course, I have no real proof of any of this, it's just what I believe. It's my "faith."

Wow. I honestly did not intend on writing a novel with this post. Thanks to those of you who made it to the end! If you have any questions or comments, I am always open to chat. My MPRS twitter account is @VictoriaMPRS. My email is victoria@mystiqueparanormal.com. I wold love to hear some of your stories! Thanks again! <3
