Ghost Hunters Needed!

Hey all!

I'm excited to announce that Mystique Paranormal (MPRS) is finally looking for new members! While past experience is not needed, it does help. Must be 21 or older, with a reliable form of transportation, and at least 2 hours per week, not including investigations themselves. The ability to obtain your own equipment, within reason, within a 90 day period is also vital.

We utilize a purely scientific methodology, but invite both true skeptics to sensitives to join.

If interested, first take some time to look over our website at:

www.MystiqueParanormal.com

If you like what you see, then contact us at:

MystiqueParanormal@gmail.com

From there, we have a two process interview procedure we'd move through. That gives both you, & us, the opportunity to see if we fit.

Don't let all that seem daunting, it's really not! :)

We look forward to hearing from you soon! Please feel free to ask any questions you'd like.

Thank you!

HELP, My House is Haunted!

For most people that have gone through their lives with little to no experience with the paranormal, moving into an actively haunted location can be a shock. You may even start to doubt your sanity! For those of us involved in paranormal research, we see this over & over, so know...you are not alone! Perhaps your not yet ready to call a paranormal team into your home or place of business, what can you do? Below's some tips on ways to handle your experiences.

• Always keep in mind that what we think of "ghosts" are actually just people without bodies. Most of them are simply trying to get your attention so you can help them. However, keep in mind, if you were nice alive, then your probably still nice when you die...same with tricksters, mean people, etc. Their attempts to get your attention, such as opening/shutting doors, moving your belongings around, even an attempt to throw something at you, are generally not meant to scare you. I always ask our clients to put theirselves in the ghosts place. No one can hear you or see you & you may not even know your dead, honestly how frustrated would you get?

• Start & keep a journal to record all experiences. We recommend you keep it somewhere easy to get to in case you have visitors that have experiences & for easy access for you. This will help you to see any trends in activity, such as most active time of the day, which room has the majority of activity, and so on. It will also be very valuable for any paranormal teams you may decide to bring in.

• Keep in mind it's your home! You have both the right & the ability to lay down laws and/or ask them to leave. Again, if you are dealing with a "ghost", then they will listen eventually. You will probably have to say it over & over again, together as a family, but eventually they'll leave or follow your requests. I would recommend having an investigation done prior to kicking them out. If they're able to pass a message into us, they may decide to leave on their own. Even if they don't, they'll be more likely to leave easily when asked. Again, they're just like you & me, just without bodies.

• DO NOT TRY TO CONTACT THEM YOURSELF, ESPECIALLY NOT THROUGH OUIJA BOARDS, TAROT CARDS, OR SEANCES!!! Please, please, please, do not attempt any of those. While there are safe & proper ways to use all 3, we strongly advise against them. If you do, you are opening a door into your home or place of business that ANYTHING can come through. Generally the type of entities that greedily wait for these doors are not what you want in your home & near your family. For instance, inhuman malicious entities, commonly referred to as a demonic entity, love to get into your home this way. A demonic haunt is a whole other situation compared to an intelligent human entity (ghost), and I'll be posting more blogs about them. I did feel the need to add this warning to our list of tips. If you do feel you're experiencing a demonic haunting, get in contact with a professional Paranormal Team in your area as quickly as you can, do not wait.

• Regardless of the type of haunting you are experiencing, it never hurts to ask your religious leader (Priest, Pastor, Rabbi, Reverend, High Priestess, etc) if they'd mind coming to your home to bless the home or place of business & even family members. In most cases you don't even need to mention ghosts. If you run into an issue with your own religion, we've found the Catholic Church to be very helpful.

• Smudging is done by lighting a stick of sage, then going throughout the property wafting the smoke into every crevice, closets, etc. Easy to pick up at a local new age shop. I'd also advise reading more up on it so you can get the most out of it!

• Salt Bags - Ever since the ancient Egyptians, salt has been highly thought of as a protection against evil & negativity. I always carry a salt bag on every investigation...better safe than sorry!

• I could go on & on talking about rocks and their properties, but trust me this info is easily accessible via google!

Ultimately you'll need to bring in an experienced paranormal investigators team, if for no other reason than to be able to show any evidence presented that you hear/see all the times. That's a huge validation for you to be able to finally say "See I was seeing that short black shadow!"

But....but....how do I start trying to find a local group? What most of you will find is that there's just too many such groups, especially in & around highly populated areas. Word of mouth is key, so if you are able to ask around for a good group that'd be great! Next step, google (ie: paranormal investigators Chattanooga, TN). Read over their pages, each should provide you with their ideology, methodology. Pay attention to the overall look & ease of use on their site.

Another good place to start is American lists of groups by state, below is one such resource:

http://paranormalsocieties.com/index.cfm

As for confidentiality, most groups offer a variety of confidentiality options. From 100% full confidentiality, to no confidentiality, though most choose the the happy middle. This option allows us to post any evidence found at the location to our website, YouTube, etc, but without specifics such as: names, location of property, etc. Instead your evidence would be posted with no names at all and a vague location (such as in Hamilton County TN) With this option, it allows us to post any evidence captured while still keeping your location & names kept confidentiality. So you do get to negotiate with any group you choose to go with, as to which option is best works for you.

Aside from the Confidentiality Agreement, we also include the permission to investigate on our 100% Liability Release. We release each client from any liability (ie: we injure ourselves, etc) while still offering to make restitution for any items we may accidentally damage. Each group has some variation of these forms.

Always check out a groups website first before contacting them. It's also a good idea to ask each group for 1-2 references from former clients. Once those steps have been made, you should be ready to speak with each of them. Ask us the tough questions, remember, we are there to help you!

Last thing to think on involves the different approaches used by different groups. Although this is not a full list of all the approaches, here are the three most prominent:

1) Scientific without the official use of psychics and/or sensitives
2) Scientific with the official use of Psychics and/or sensitives
3) Faith based groups

In the end, it's who you feel more comfortable with. Also, if you're willing to allow more than one group in at separate times, you may be able to get more supporting evidence that your home is haunted or not haunted.

Thank you!

Know Your Haunts 101!

Hello everyone, thanks for checking out our blogs today! :)

In the field of paranormal research, it's generally accepted that haunting fall into 1 of 3 categories.

1) Residual
2) Intelligent
3) Demonic

Residual haunting are, to most people, the least threatening once you understand what's going on. In essence, residual hauntings are simply trapped energy. With these there is no way for the entities to communicate with you, nor you with them. In actuality there is not an actual entity present, even if you see it. Think of this type of haunt as more of a recording from the past replaying its self over & over again, be it footsteps up the stairs at 2am every other Thursday, or seeing a woman crying once a month. The thought behind residual haunts is that moments of high intensity (think crying woman) and repeatedly occurring actions (think footsteps on the stairs) imprints on time. Easiest way to find out if you have a residual haunt is to journalize all your activity. You'll notice the patterns easily with residual activity.

By far the most common type of hauntings is the intelligent type. This is where you have humans that have passed trying to communicate with you, generally for help. A lot of times, people become scared of these entities and their attempts to communicate. Think of it from their point of view...you are walking around and no one can hear you and see you. Would you not get upset and do things like hiding their keys or throwing a pop can at someone??? I know I would be!

Of course, we fundamentally believe that a spirits attitude doesn't change simply because they died. So if one were a nice person in life, why wouldn't they remain so in death? On the same token, if you were mean in life...you're mean in death. The good thing about intelligent hauntings is that you can reason with the majority of them. Such as telling them they are no longer welcome in your home. You may have to repeat this over & over before they all leave, but they will as long as you stand firm in your request. Just think of them as people, just like you & I, but without bodies.

The third type of haunt is extremely rare, but they do exist and it's the worst type of haunt to have, period. I'm referring to demonic hauntings. Please note that the term demonic is used to generalize & simplify a who host of entities. Technically they are inhuman entities (never were flesh & blood) with malicious intent. This reaches across all religious & cultural beliefs.

Demonic haunts are generally accepted to to follow a 5 point escalation in activity, ultimately ending in death.

1) Manifestation - intentional or unintentional invitation is made that allows these entities to your home & to you. Some common ways to open this doorway are playing with a Ouija Board, holding Seances, & playing with tarot cards.

2) Infestation - entities takes on a persona you will trust, such as an Angel, a loved one, or a child. This stage is all about deception & gaining your trust. Very similar to an intelligent haunt at this point.

3) Oppression - entities begin making demands, steps up the mental & physical attacks on residents. At this point they are trying to make you give up your will to live; thus, selling your soul. Suicide is very common by this stage.

4) Possession - entities gain control of both your body, mind & emotions. The demonic entity is almost always there to override the humans ability to do anything. The possessed person, if is granted periods of control, is still subjected to threatening internal communication.

5) Death - This is the ultimate desire of demonic entities. They want you dead so they can collect your soul. Murder-Suicide & just suicide attempts are extremely common at this point

Please note that I've barely scratched the surface of these 3 most common types of haunts & that there are more types of haunts as well. I've tried to just give a brief introduction to each mentioned above. I hope to later go more into depth with each of these haunt types, as well as discuss the other types of hauntings generally accepted in the paranormal community.

Thank you for reading this blog!

Sensitives & Psychics

I'd like to start out by stating that our group, Mystique Paranormal, does not use sensitives or psychics officially in any of our investigations. Having said that, about half my group, myself included, are sensitive with one psychic. We use our "gifts" to help us capture evidence, and it has proven to be very helpful in that regard. All those with ability are asked to internalize any impressions and/or messages received, then log that info post investigation. MPRS follows a purely scientific methodology at all times.

I've also decided to start a Facebook group page called Sensitive's Chat Cafe as a forum to learn and share information, ideas, and hopefully foster mentorships. Please feel free to join the group if your gifted, & all skill levels are welcome to join! Below I'd the FB link to the group page:

How does an investigation usually go?

Since each paranormal team works differently, be advised this is our normal process for a hunt...

1) About 3-5 days (varies) prior to a hunt, we do an in depth face to face interview and a property walk through. This varies a lot depending on if its a residential home or a business/other.

2)once the date of an investigation is scheduled, we ask our members to RSVP. If the location is small, we limit our investigators to usually 3-5.

3) Day before: all equipment is fully charged, discs & cassettes marked, delete
old files, then organize all your equipment in a neat & easy to find manner. Always bring extra batteries. Place everything in one easy to get to location so it'll be handy to load up in your car the next day.

4) Give entire team a brief walk through, point out hot spots & what activity occurs there.

5) Once everything is moved from the cars to the location, you're preselected area for command is ready to be set up.

6) First remove all equipment from cases, organizing everything by type (cameras, camcorders, audio, etc). No food nor drinks should be near this area. Attach any extra parts, such as IR Illuminators, so they are ready to roll. Then take all empty cases and move them to a good out of the way place, preferably away from command.

7) The command table itself is set up per instructions from tech manager. This usually involves DVR set-up and starting a master log for command. Everyone not involved in baseline readings & photo canvases must assist tech manager with tech set up. The team doing the baseline readings (average EMF & TEMP) and the photo canvas are generally a 3-4 member group, with a min of 2. They fill out both an indoor & outdoor log.

8) Once everything's up and running we usually take a 10-15 min break for phone calls, bathroom breaks, smoking breaks, etc etc

9) Go dark! This is when the fun begins!

10) All teams & team rotations are worked out before arriving at any location. Teams are generally 2-3 investigators & each team will get to investigate each area at least once.

11) Between each rotation we try to limit the time back to 5-10 min max so that we get as much investigating done as possible.

12) If we are doing a full night hunt, we will take a 15-20 min break, similar to when we took one after set up

13) We do rotate each team for at least one rotation at command. We do alway try to have the tech manager run the first command rotation, then either the tech manager or the asst. tech manager run the last tech rotation.

14) At the end of each investigation, the group votes on the place we should visit last as a whole group. Generally we'll run a 15 min ghost box session there.

15) Pack up! Equipment is easy to miss so we do 3 full checks for any left behind. Just like set up, everything needs to be taken down & organized. All wires & cords should always be wrapped up neatly (no Christmas tree lights!!). Once everything is organized then you can begin packing everything in the correct case they came in. Once a case is full, move it to the designated area for stuff ready to go into cars. Then when everything is packed up place it in the car(s) neatly.

16) 2-4 members do the final property walk through, looking for any equipment missed and cleaning any mess you made, including picking up trash, etc.

17) Finish up with a brief meeting to plan review goals.

18) Once you've either locked up yourself, or waited for the owner to lock you out, then your officially ready to go!

Please keep in mind this is a very minimalist outline of an official hunt, there is so much more. Once you try it once, you'll either become a member of a team, or you'll swear never to do it again. For those of you like us, we live for it!

Thank you so much for checking out our blogs & please check back for more!

Para-Unity!

If you're new to, or not a member of, the paranormal community then you may not have even heard of paranormal unity. The idea behind para-unity is that since all paranormal groups are essentially reaching for the same goals, namely to help people & to find indisputable proof of the paranormal to make it an accepted science, is to work together to bring about these advancements that much quicker.

However...it's easier said than done. Many groups believe their way is the only way and/or an unhealthy group rivalry. MPRS has reached out to many groups in our area to try to foster para-unity...so far we have been greatly disappointed in the general lack of even a response from many groups in our general area.

In a perfect world, at least twice a year the local & semi local groups should meet up and learn from one another. The best way to start building these bridges is to simply accept that although you may strongly disagree with another teams methodology, just accept that they are following a path different, not bad or wrong, just different.

To those of you reading this, I highly recommend you start reaching out to other groups in your area. Knowledge is truly power, so let start sharing with each other today.

Thank you!
